Newborn falls onto floor during delivery- the STAR

A BABY boy who was being delivered at Hospital Serdang fell onto the floor last Tuesday. The baby's umbilical cord was also snapped in the fall, reportedNanyang Siang Pau.
The baby's father known only as Zulfahmi, 35 who had accompanied his wife in the delivery room said he was shocked by the incident.
He said before his baby slid onto the floor, he could see his head already emerging.
However, he said the shoulders were stuck and it caused slight difficulties during the labour.
As the doctor and nurses were busy trying to solve the problem, Zulfahmi said the baby suddenly slid out and neither the doctor nor the nurses was able to catch him.
“He fell about two feet to the floor and his umbilical cord snapped.
The 3.08kg baby was later sent to the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where examinations showed that he was stable and did not suffer any injury.
However, Zulfahmi is still worried that his son may suffer from complications from the fall later.
“Only the attending doctor has apologised to me. The hospital has been silent,” he said.

All hands on the McRobert's maneuvre until forgetting the passage of the body - utterly nonsense and unacceptable.
